Honors Designations

All Honors classes in high school are weighted.

In order to receive Honors designation for high school courses, the student must complete each high school semester course with a minimum of a 85 points and the separate Honors assignment(s) must be completed for each high school semester course.  While the separate Honors assignment(s) are not graded, they must be found to be of Outstanding quality for the student to receive the Honors designation in that course.

In order to receive Honors designation for college courses completed in high school, the course must meet the definition of an A-G requirement, be academic in nature, and be at a college-level.  For instance, physical education and remedial courses do not receive Honors credit.

For the student to receive High Honors for the academic year, the student must finish the year with a 3.6  weighted Grade Point Average with at least 50 units (5 classes) in Honors classes.
